We started looking at water softeners as an option for the last couple of years. The water in the area where we live (Surrey) is so hard that scale deposits on anything that water touches in a matter of few days (sink, taps, shower enclosure, dishes, washing machine . The task of keeping all this stuff clean is just daunting, especially with a toddler to look after. We looked around for companies providing softeners and the different technologies available out there. Mr Goody’s Twintec stood out with the speed of their reply, quality of the service and the price they quoted us with. We must admit that we were a bit reticent at first as these days companies tend to overstate the capabilities of their products. Once Mr Goody arranged for the apparatus to be fitted, I joke you not, the results were instantaneous. The water is a lot foamier when using soaps, shampoo etc, no more scale marks anywhere in the house, a lot (I mean a lot) less cleaning to do. We asked for a quote on a Friday, Mr Goody visited the same day in the afternoon for a demonstration and a quote, we called back on Sunday to arrange for the installation, and this was completed the following Tuesday. The job took just under 3 hours to complete. I would highly recommend this system and Mr Goody’s Twintec service.

We have been a customers since 2005 when Kevin Goody installed a Twintec softener in our house; the installation was carried out swiftly and effectively with a minimum of disruption to the normal running of the home. The benefits of the softer water were immediately apparent with the disappearance of lime scale around taps and the washing machine producing outstanding results. On moving to a new house in a hard water area in Hampshire the first thing that we had installed was a Twintec softener which has functioned perfectly and prevented accrual of lime scale in any part of the plumbing system in the house. We have been so impressed by the softener that we arranged for Twintec softeners to be installed by Kevin Goody’s company in two other properties in hard water areas where the reduction of lime scale and feel of the water in baths and showers was remarkable.
On each occasion that we have called on Kevin Goody for another installation we have received a fast and efficient service to the household and a remarkable reduction in the hardness of the water in the house. In the one property that we had without a softener we have just had to renew the central heating boiler and descale all of the water fittings and shower glass.

"In 2007 I finally had enough! The constant cleaning and use of mountains of expensive cleaning products had to stop! when our newly fitted designer sink tap clogged up with limescale after just three months, even my husband was sold on the idea of a water softener.
Not only does limescale leave a nasty grey film everywhere water is concerned, it also cloggs up pipes and causes heating systems to break down, makes heating more expensive, and damages appliances like washing machines. But I was not going to put up with it any longer!
My research on the web led right back to Kevin Goody from UK Water Softeners, who all along had been advertising with my Elvetham Heath Directory and my new Fleet Life magazine I had come to the conclusion that if we were going to take this step, I wanted to make the right choice, I wanted to make sure that the water softener regenerated when it needed to, not when the clock was set, especially as we are on a water meter! Combined with the fact that I did not really want to have to lug around a 25kg bag of salt when reloading, the TwinTec was the perfect choice. It requires no electricity and on average we use 1 pack of salt per month which is two 4kg blocks.
Kevin Goody arranged everything from the initial survey to the installation. His service was excellent and my water softener was installed in a few hours. It took about a week for the whole house to have soft water. I would not want to miss it anymore, and do you want to know what my husband said? "The best thing we ever bought!"
No more limescale build up anywhere and cleaning the shower screen every day; my stainless steel sink only needs a quick wipe without any cleaning products and my dishwasher and washing machine only need half the amount of detergents. My kettle miraculously descaled itself within two weeks and even the cups of tea and coffee taste a lot nicer. We use half the amount of shampoo and shower gel and I cannot remember when I last used body lotion as my skin feels soft and smooth after a shower."
"We installed a Water Softener from Kevin Goody in 1998. He was operating as Kinetico at that time and has subsequently become known as UK Water Softeners. I had the unit serviced recently, something I should have done a while ago as there appeared to be a small problem with the softener. The service was first class, the call was on time and very quick, a small part had to be replaced and the unit is working perfectly again. I order all my salt blocks form Kevin via the web for delivery to my house. All orders are confirmed via e-mail and he delivers as quickly as possible. I have never had to wait for my salt. 'I had one of these incredible little units installed soon after we moved into our new home, in a moderately hard water area, ten years ago.
I knew from past experience that those white marks on taps, sinks and shower and everywhere touched by tap water, meant that the new shine would not last long and the value of our new house would suffer unless action was taken. So, after looking at the available options I was most impressed by TwinTec design and had one fitted very neatly and efficiently, by UK water Softeners. It's may not be the cheapest water softener around, but in my opinion it is easily the best. The fact that it actively monitors water usage before activating the refresh cycle, and uses water power rather than needing a separate electrical supply to drive timers and other complex (and breakable) parts, is quite brilliant.
The TwinTec is also more compact and user friendly than most other water softeners. It takes up just a half size kitchen cupboard space, and block salt is very easily fed in when needed (about once a month in our case), it's far easier to store and less messy to fit than granular salt.
Our unit has worked none stop and completely trouble free, for the past ten years now, making clean water fittings and almost zero maintenance something which we take very much for granted.
The only associated item that has needed changing in that time, was a little drinking water tap that we had installed, which is independent of the softener and still uses untreated mains water. Being on hard water it is inclined to choke up and sometimes has to be de-scaled. A reminder of all the trouble the little TwinTec machine is constantly saving us elsewhere. My best investment ever.'

"I had a new 'closed vented' heating system installed in 2008. The existing water softener proved useless and impeded the flow of hot water. After thorough research I found the Twintec water softener.
Kevin Goody answered all my questions and the water softener was cleanly installed by his dedicated plumber in July of that year.
I have now had this softener for 4 years and it has done exactly what I wanted.
Nice clean showers with softened water, lime-free toilets and (although I haven't cut open the pipes to have a look) I suspect similarly clean heating pipes.
I reload the salt, supplied annually at a competetitive rate and delivered by Kevin, about every 3 weeks
I'm delighted with it. This is a large house which needs soft water and trouble-free plumbing.

"We decided to install a softwater system and were recommended Twin Tec by our plumber. We contacted Kevin Goody and he responded very quickly with a quote for the system. The installer, Rob, arrived promptly and did an excellent job managing to move pipes to enable us to fit the water softener and salt block unit under our sink. "Before the TwinTec system I had 2 Culligan systems over nine years. Both these units used a lot of salt and were fairly loud when regenerating. I found them unreliable and both proved expensive to repair. Kevin installed the Twin Tec system for me 2 months ago and it really is very quiet and requires less salt. Yes it is more expensive then some other brands but it lives up to its promises. With the benefit of hindsight I wished I had spent the extra money 2 water softeners ago as it would have been cheaper option in the long run and a better product."

"We have been using TwinCylinder, Block Salt, water softeners since 1988 and love them.
The installation is easy and quick and gives immediate good results.
One of the best things about these systems are the fact that they do not need electricity and need no programming according to usage, unlike other softeners. They only soften the water as you use it so is very efficient. All you have to do is make sure it is topped up with salt.
I know of people who have stopped using their different make softeners because they are fed up with having to change the programming for when or who is in the house or when there has been a power cut. You don’t have any of that hassle with this system.
Straight away you feel the benefit on your skin and hair, as well as noticing how much less soap and shampoo you use. You only need to use less than half of soap powder, washing up liquid etc, that you would normally use. You easily recover the cost of the softener by using less soap and not having to buy any lime scale remover. You do not have to buy salt for the dishwasher.
Towels and clothes feel softer as there is no calcium build up in them.
When you wash your car, there is no scum left on it.
You get a great cup of tea with no ‘film’ on top.
There is no taste of salt in the water due to the way the system is designed.
Our washing machine (2002) was repaired yesterday due to a mounting failure.The engineer asked when we had had the pump and element changed. I told him they were the originals and had never been changed. The engineer could not believe that the element, drum and pump were the original ones, as there was not trace of limescale in the machine. He said he had never seen a machine in such good condition for its age.
Our dishwasher is over 13 years old and the elements still look as new as the day the machine was installed. The kettle and iron are the same.
Our showers, baths, sinks and toilets have absolutely no staining even though they are now over 13 years old.
Shower heads never ever need cleaning.
Also, the softened water keeps the elements in the hot water/heating system and boiler in good condition with no limescale build up, so the system remains efficient keeping the energy costs down. Similarly the elements in the washing machine/ dish washer etc heat up the water quicker due to no limescale build up, thus reducing the heating costs.
It is easy to top up the softener with salt, unlike other softeners with those you have to lug around a 25kg bag of salt and then spend ages shovelling it into the softener with the inevitable salt spilling on the floor and in the kitchen cupboard, with this softener all you have is two blocks (like two housebricks) easy to load and easy to store and the salt is delivered promptly when ordered.
I would also mention that this softener is one of the smallest in uk, its compact and fits conveniently under the (kitchen) sink.
I don’t understand why everyone does not have one.”

"I couldn't believe how hard the water was here after moving to the area, the amount of products that I needed just to keep things clean, washing powder etc' that we were getting through was ridiculous,and nasty tasting tea. I then spoke to Kevin and made an appointment to view one of his softeners, and in no time we had arranged the installation without any high pressure sales talk, it was obvious this was the solution we needed, and what a huge difference this has made, clean bathrooms, less washing powder and shampoo, no harsh cleaning products, very economical to run as there is no electrical connection, and the installation was done quickly and very professionally with no mess, and with no scale in the kettle that means a great tasting cup of tea once again! "We had our original water softener installed by Kevin Goody when we moved Farnham Common in March of 1999. Since that time the unit has worked quietly and efficiently hidden away in a small space under the sink. Since installation the unit has required just one service visit to renew some worn internal valves and this was carried out easily, without fuss and at little cost. As with most items improvements are made and upon being approached by Kevin to tell us of the Twintec S3, the upgraded version of our softener and after twelve years trouble free usage of the old unit, we decided to invest in a newer model. water tap and we now have three times the water pressure we used to get!

for any work we might need in the house in future!

We made one of our best decisions when we moved into our new home 12 years ago and opted for the twin cylinder, block salt, water softener from Kevin Goody. It operates without an electrical connection and is completely trouble free producing non-stop soft water. In our very hard water area of Berkshire this is a real boon. I have to admit that my brother told me about TwinTec, since he had a water softener fitted in his house in Liphook and is a complete convert to softened water. He thought his came from a firm in Havant, but that was too far away. So I googled TwinTec and up came UK Water Softeners in local Frimley. A phone call later and Kevin Goody was round to look at my flat within a couple of hours. 30 minutes later we had done and dealt. That was Thursday and it was fitted at 9.am. the following Monday. In the meantime I had had a confirmatory letter saying when the system would be fitted.
I cannot recommend the service I have had from Kevin highly enough. Most people who know me are aware that I am totally intolerant of inefficiency but this was the diametric opposite! I shall certainly let all my friends and acquaintances know of this very simple device. It may cost more but in my experience you get what you pay for in this life. What is more if you move you can take the unit with you, if you want!

What fantastic service! From looking at your advert in the local paper, to having our water softerner installed - 5 days - and 2 of those were the weekend. After recently buying a new home in Hook, we realised that the water was causing us some problems with our shower/toilet seals due to the hardness of the local water. We decided to explore the cost and possibility of having a water softener installed. We had done some research on the internet (as you would expect) and found that most softeners had a time clock on them and needed maintenance once a year at a cost. Last week we received a flyer through the door, which looked professional and promising as there was minimal maintainance and can last up to 20 years (sounds intriguing!) We decided to bite the bullet and call to arrange for a sales person to visit. Kevin Goody, the proprietor, called us back and arranged an appointment to suit us. (Service indeed). When he arrived, he gave us a demonstration and showed us the softener which had no time clock, neither the need to carry large bags of salt around as they are delivered in bags of 2 blocks, which are much easier to manhandle. We agreed to purchase the softener from Kevin there and then because he explained everything to us clearly and gave us several options of location of the unit, and then gave us a concise estimate with NO hidden extras to supply and install it. The Plumber arrived on time, and installed the water softener exactly where we wanted it and when we look at the finished article, it has been done to a very high standard, and we are 100% satisfied to the quality of work carried out! We wanted to praise Kevin Goody for his professionalism and courteousness and not trying to hard sell us into a sale, and we have no hesitation in recommending Kevin and his company to anybody who is looking for a Water Softener. When my family and I moved to Basingstoke one of the first things we were acutely aware of was the hardness of the water in the area. You could argue that the affects of hard water is hardly life threatening, but hailing from Nottingham and also having lived in Yorkshire (being natural soft water areaʼs) we had been blissfully unaware of the affects of hard water from being unable to achieve a decent lather when bathing to the damage lime-scale does to plumbing and sanitary wear. It wasnʼt an easy decision, the investment in a not inexpensive piece of equipment that gives you something (soft water) weʼd taken for granted thus far, the number of options of both equipment and suppliers within the area was baffling! When you are talking about a piece of equipment that is attached to your main water feed, you donʼt want a "fly by night" installation. I eventually decided that the twin block salt equipment was the best solution for our needs, without the timing mechanism and electrical connection of other softeners Iʼd seen meant the softener only recharged the part of the equipment which provided the softening to the water - which meant if my family and I went on holiday for two weeks (leaving the house empty) weʼd return to a softener with the same amount of salt weʼd left it with! As for the supplier, I wanted to ensure it wasnʼt a "fly by night" organization which was there to make money from your initial investment and not be around if you had issues, now comes the reason for my testimonial to Kevin Goody: Itʼs been over ten years since our purchase, weʼve had one issue where the softener unit stopped softening, which was dealt with very quickly and in a very professional manner, the "fault" in the end was not a fault of the unit but a first indication that our kitchen units required renewing (a shelf support had failed tilting the unit so water wasnʼt fully in contact with the salt blocks). Our other contact with Kevin is for the supply of the only consumable - the block salt. For a house with two bathrooms (both fitted with power showers) and three toilets, five adults use salt which costs around £96 per year (a small cost for the luxury of soft water), for this I contact Kevin about once a year, his no fuss service is exceptional, even though he is based in Frimley, despite the fact that I always tell him there is no rush, he delivers salt either same or next day - not being in when he delivers is not an issue either, he will leave it safely and provide a postage paid envelope for me to send the payment in. I do not hesitate to recommend Kevin Goody, UK Water Softeners, the equipment and the service he provides. In the past ten years three neighbours have had a hot water tank failure, causing damage to ceilings and creating massive disruption to the household and the reason for the tank failure? LIMESCALE, so not only has our water softener saved us from that but I would estimate that in the ten years weʼve had the unit it has paid for itself with each smaller amount of soap, shampoo & cleanser weʼve had to use every time weʼve washed /cleaned and showered
