"I have had a 'Twintec' water softener from Kevin Goody for over 9 years .... no problems whatsoever. I commend the product and more particularly the service and advice given by Mr Kevin Goody. Excellent in every respect."
Ian - Camberley - March 2014
"Coming from a soft water area I noticed more than anyone the destructive power that hard water has on your home and skin. Within months taps, showers, dishwashers, washing machines, shower screens, baths, toilets and kettles are ruined unless you spend an absolute fortune on cleaning and de-scaling products, not to mention the endless scrubbing.
We changed our kitchen 10 years ago and bought a Twin Tec water softener from Kevin Goody (UK Water Softeners). I wanted one before I went on to change our bathroom, ensuite and downstairs WC. WOW what a transformation. Here we are 10 years on and our bathrooms, taps, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, 2 power showers, toilets etc are still like new condition. We only clean them once every two weeks because they stay clean. We have never used any de-scaling products. Our skin doesn't dry out with the constant need for moisturiser. We actually changed our kettle after 7 years because it was worn on the outside but inside it was perfectly clean. I know it sounds a lot to pay for a softener but we paid £1050, 10 years ago. Coupled with the price of salt its cost us averaged over the 10 years £144 per year. But we have saved that on cleaning products alone. And most of our appliances would have been replaced by now and who knows what that would have cost. Our Boiler is 24 years old and still in perfect condition. Thats because the water softener just doesn't give you soft water it cleans existing pipe work and scale out of your boiler.
This sounds like a sales pitch but I cannot stress enough the benefits of a softener. If you are the sort of person who like me wants clean bathrooms, low maintenance, no unwanted plumber bills, perfect showers year after year, this is for you. There are loads of pros to this and the only con I can see is the initial cost. Once you are past that you'll never be without one."

"Dear Mr Goody,
I'm delighted to be a customer/owner of a 'Twin-tec' Water Softener System. We've had the 'Twin-tec" installed for two years, and what a difference that has made to our use of water in that time.
So okay why is this product so good?
1) Easy to install, and in our case re-install following an installation of a new kitchen. The first installation
took no time at all; the Plumber arrived on time, cracked on completing the installation well within the
When the 'Twin-tec' was re-installed the Plumber from the kitchen installation company was equally as quick as the first installation. However on the second installation the fit was designed for easier access, which has made life even easier.
2) No electrics! Being an Electrician by training I appreciate that water and electrics don't mix!!!
The 'Twin-tec' operates on water pressure only; brilliant.
3) It's so quiet you forget its there.
4) Saving money year-on-year. Even when taking into account the cost of the salt the savings really add up. Typically; the biggie: NO SALT NEEDED FOR THE DISHWASHER, bathroom soap and shampoo actually
goes further. Washing Powder/Liquid goes further too. Kettles take a lot less time (power) to boil; you don't have to heat the scale first because there isn't any!!! Same applies to the hot water system. In the first year we saved £64, this year's savings will be even higher.
5) Kitchen, Bathrooms, and Kettle stay cleaner; you're not cleaning away the limescale any more.
(I suppose that is indirectly another cost saving.)
Although I haven't seen the pipes the system is cleaning the build up of scale out. How do I know? After the installation of the Kitchen a sizable lump of scale came out of the tap. This process of depleting the scale is ongoing as the system runs.
To repeat myself; I'm delighted. If I had to score the system; 10 out of 10!
The hardware is only half the story. Mr Kevin Goody provides a fantastic whole life service. The sales pitch over two years ago was the most relaxed sales I've ever experienced. Kevin Goody said at the time that the system sells itself, and as I've illustrated in points 1-5; it does (Many times over!). Kevin Goody is only a 'phone call away for the replenishment of the salt. Delivery is within a couple of days. When we moved the
'Twin-tec' as part of the Kitchen upgrade; Kevin Goody was there to provide support, both material (new plumbing parts), and technical advice. I like doing business with a friendly person, not an impersonal
Company, for me Kevin Goody's approach wins every time.
What I've learnt from buying the 'Twin-tec' is that I didn't know I NEEDED one; until now. There's no way I would be without one!"
Neville, Basingstoke - January 2014
"We had a water softener fitted by Kevin Goody (UK Water Softeners) and his team and were so impressed by their quality of service and the product, when we moved house we had them fit another one in the new property.
Their process end to end was professional, polite, efficient, timely, neat and tidy. From Kevin’s initial survey and quote, to Robs quality installation.
The twintec softener they fitted is smaller, more effective, quieter and uses less salt. I would have no hesitation in using them and this product again.
I would recommend them to anyone considering having a softener fitted."
Andrew, Basingstoke - November 2013
"I had this product installed a few years back by UK Water Softeners and the product has been great, its easy to refill the salt and it sits quite happily in the corner of the cupboard needing no maintenance.
I have recommended the softener to many people and will still recommend in years to come.
Sean, Thatcham, Newbury - November 2013
"Having moved into a hard water area, I was interested in improving the house with a water-softener; reducing visible limescale build-up in the shower and around the taps etc, as well as reducing the damaging effects of limescale build-up in appliances.
My parents demonstrated to me their Twin-Tec machine at their home in Suffolk. This is their second Twin-Tec and was one of the first purchases after moving into their new house (the old one is still running in the old house). They swear by it and said their local installer was very good.
Having 'Googled' Twin-Tec on google maps, I found 'UK Water Softeners' to be my local installer. After leaving an answer-phone message, Kevin Goody (manager/owner) returned my call the same day. Kevin was happy to accommodate my late commuter schedule, and came around after work one day to talk me through the system and what I could have fitted.
The work was able to be scheduled within a week and the quote was clear and complete. The plumber who turned up had been given ample time in his schedule to complete my job - a complex fit due to the location if the mains. The plumber did an excellent job, was clean, tidy and polite. He explained what he was doing and left the kitchen in an excellent state - even refitting a shelf that he had to cut around.
One error in the initial spec of the job was discussed and the plumber altered the fit to incorporate the change - all at his own discretion and with no effect on the quote.
The Twin-Tec system works seamlessly and I am very pleased with both the service provided and also the product that I have bought.
A 5-star (9/10) for service and finish; my only issue having been the minor error in original spec. Overall: excellent."
John, Woking - October 2013
"When our old electrically operated softener packed up we called in Kevin Goody of UK Water Softeners. The very next day we had a TwinTec block salt water softener installed.
As it says in the brochure, it's simple, effective and easy to use. It uses no electricity, uses much less water and salt and we now use even less washing up liquid, soap, shampoo etc. than before. It also seems kinder to our skin. In hard water areas every house should have one.
In fact, we were so pleased with ours that we bought another installation for our daughter. Again it was installed almost immediately and customer service was excellent throughout!
Thank you, Kevin."
Mike B, Tadley - September 2013
"Dear Mr Goody
I am writing to thank you very much for the excellent service you provided regarding the installation and ongoing service of our water softener. This has now been installed for four years and we have been very pleased with the product - especially as it does not require electricity! I would have no hesitation in recommending your company.
With many thanks"
Mary, Lightwater - August 2013
"I have wanted a water softener for a long time but it's installation became a no-brainer when I replaced my kitchen and, on the recommendation of my contractor, I sought out Kevin Goody (UK Water Softeners), a local supplier for TwinTec. He supplied, we did the work. Service was immediate; installation was a breeze; I only lost half a cupboard for housing; and the unit is so unobtrusive that I have to make a point of checking it out occasionally. There is simply nothing to do by way of maintenance except to order replacement blocks of salt occasionally, lift a lid and pop them in.
"The great reassurance is that I no longer risk the inconvenience and cost of my built-in pipework seizing up with lime scale at some time in the future. I am confident that TwinTec is one of the 2 top brands on the market and have no doubt that water softening is an essential fact of life in this day and age. Kevin Goody's sales and service clinched the deal for me."
Linda, Church Crookham, Fleet, Hants - August 2013
Thank you for the receipt you sent for the water softener.
We are really pleased with it,
We really notice a difference in the water.
The water is so much softer and it has even helped with my burning mouth syndrome.
Mr & Mrs Hopkins - Basingstoke - May 2013
We started looking at water softeners as an option for the last couple of years. The water in the area where we live (Surrey) is so hard that scale deposits on anything that water touches in a matter of few days (sink, taps, shower enclosure, dishes, washing machine . The task of keeping all this stuff clean is just daunting, especially with a toddler to look after. We looked around for companies providing softeners and the different technologies available out there. Mr Goody’s Twintec stood out with the speed of their reply, quality of the service and the price they quoted us with. We must admit that we were a bit reticent at first as these days companies tend to overstate the capabilities of their products. Once Mr Goody arranged for the apparatus to be fitted, I joke you not, the results were instantaneous. The water is a lot foamier when using soaps, shampoo etc, no more scale marks anywhere in the house, a lot (I mean a lot) less cleaning to do. We asked for a quote on a Friday, Mr Goody visited the same day in the afternoon for a demonstration and a quote, we called back on Sunday to arrange for the installation, and this was completed the following Tuesday. The job took just under 3 hours to complete. I would highly recommend this system and Mr Goody’s Twintec service.
Mr & Mrs Alane - Staines - May 2013
We have been a customers since 2005 when Kevin Goody installed a Twintec softener in our house; the installation was carried out swiftly and effectively with a minimum of disruption to the normal running of the home. The benefits of the softer water were immediately apparent with the disappearance of lime scale around taps and the washing machine producing outstanding results. On moving to a new house in a hard water area in Hampshire the first thing that we had installed was a Twintec softener which has functioned perfectly and prevented accrual of lime scale in any part of the plumbing system in the house. We have been so impressed by the softener that we arranged for Twintec softeners to be installed by Kevin Goody’s company in two other properties in hard water areas where the reduction of lime scale and feel of the water in baths and showers was remarkable.
On each occasion that we have called on Kevin Goody for another installation we have received a fast and efficient service to the household and a remarkable reduction in the hardness of the water in the house. In the one property that we had without a softener we have just had to renew the central heating boiler and descale all of the water fittings and shower glass.
The salt blocks, which are the only consumable in the system, are delivered promptly (within 48hrs) on a phone call so that we have never run out.
AJC - Elvetham Heath, Fleet - March 2013
Kevin Goody at UK Water Softeners has exceeded our expectation for great quality customer service. Between making contact, having a demonstration, deciding to purchase and installation, it was less than four days!!
The installer (plumber) was informative, quick and tidy and ensured we had all the information we needed before he left.
If you are wanting a quick, efficient and quality service/installation I cannot recommend Kevin highly enough.
Mr & Mrs Edney - Basingstoke - March 2013
"In 2007 I finally had enough! The constant cleaning and use of mountains of expensive cleaning products had to stop! when our newly fitted designer sink tap clogged up with limescale after just three months, even my husband was sold on the idea of a water softener.
Not only does limescale leave a nasty grey film everywhere water is concerned, it also cloggs up pipes and causes heating systems to break down, makes heating more expensive, and damages appliances like washing machines. But I was not going to put up with it any longer!
My research on the web led right back to Kevin Goody from UK Water Softeners, who all along had been advertising with my Elvetham Heath Directory and my new Fleet Life magazine I had come to the conclusion that if we were going to take this step, I wanted to make the right choice, I wanted to make sure that the water softener regenerated when it needed to, not when the clock was set, especially as we are on a water meter! Combined with the fact that I did not really want to have to lug around a 25kg bag of salt when reloading, the TwinTec was the perfect choice. It requires no electricity and on average we use 1 pack of salt per month which is two 4kg blocks.
Kevin Goody arranged everything from the initial survey to the installation. His service was excellent and my water softener was installed in a few hours. It took about a week for the whole house to have soft water. I would not want to miss it anymore, and do you want to know what my husband said? "The best thing we ever bought!"
No more limescale build up anywhere and cleaning the shower screen every day; my stainless steel sink only needs a quick wipe without any cleaning products and my dishwasher and washing machine only need half the amount of detergents. My kettle miraculously descaled itself within two weeks and even the cups of tea and coffee taste a lot nicer. We use half the amount of shampoo and shower gel and I cannot remember when I last used body lotion as my skin feels soft and smooth after a shower."
"We installed a Water Softener from Kevin Goody in 1998. He was operating as Kinetico at that time and has subsequently become known as UK Water Softeners. I had the unit serviced recently, something I should have done a while ago as there appeared to be a small problem with the softener. The service was first class, the call was on time and very quick, a small part had to be replaced and the unit is working perfectly again. I order all my salt blocks form Kevin via the web for delivery to my house. All orders are confirmed via e-mail and he delivers as quickly as possible. I have never had to wait for my salt. I am in essence very happy with my decision to install a water softener from Kevin Goody. It was a good choice."
Gordon - Charvil - February 2013
"Hi Kevin, Just a note to thank you for your prompt response to our enquiry and the efficient installation of the TwinTec (S3) Water Softener. As you will recall your firm installed the water softener in our previous Winchester property. We live in a very hard water area and we did not appreciate just how much we missed the water softener in our new property until the new one was installed last week. What a difference we have noticed already, lovely soft water and no more chalky white surfaces in the bathroom and kitchen. Lovely."
Brian - Winchester - February 2013
“We bought our TwinTec Water Softener in 2003 from Kevin Goody (UK Water Softeners) when moving into a new house mainly to protect our new appliances from becoming damaged with the hard water – 9 years on it is still doing a fantastic job and well worth the initial outlay. Invariably my salt is delivered the same day, and today it arrived within an hour of emailing the request. Outstanding service. "
Simon & Linda - North Warnborough - December 2012
"Dear Mr Goody
Just to let you know that after six months of use with our new TwinTec S3 water softener you kindly supplied, we are delighted with the results.
The unit itself is totally maintenance free and runs silent all of the time and is extremely easy to refill with salt blocks - exactly as you told us at the time we were contemplating purchase.
Your service and the unit is excellent."
John and Maggi - Fleet - December 2012
We are still pleased with the TwinTec Water softener you arranged for us approx 5 years ago and your friendly plumber was brilliant leaving our cupboard under the sink tidy and to our surprise even more spacious, The cleaning in the kitchen and bathroom is much easier with no hard water marks. We also always get quick delivery of salt after ordering them from you, thanks, making the maintenance of our water softener so easy."
Jacqueline - Fleet - December 2012
"Have been a customer since installing a water softener in 1997 and Kevin Goody has never let us down and also recommended an excellent engineer to service our Harvey system."
Wendy - Camberley - November 2012
"All positive..........fantastic product, service, a pleasure to meet Kevin Goody and his excellent plumber who left my kitchen spotless when he had finished his A1 installation. If I could afford this plumber I would be 100% happy with his work........."
Lorraine, Cove, Farnborough - November 2012
'I am writing to say how pleased we are with the purchase of the TwinTec S3 softener.
It has already made such a difference with showering and the general appearance of lime scale around sinks etc. Plus we have also been able to reduce the amount of washing powder we use and the salt in the dishwasher. So it is good to substantiate the benefits of a water softener.
The installation itself went very smoothly and the space lost by the softener is minimal and we would never had known the plumber had been as he left no mess at all…very impressed.
So thanks again for such an excellent service which is so refreshing in these times where we sadly have to succumb to such lower standards.'
Mr Gibbins, Bracknell - November 2012
'I had one of these incredible little units installed soon after we moved into our new home, in a moderately hard water area, ten years ago.
I knew from past experience that those white marks on taps, sinks and shower and everywhere touched by tap water, meant that the new shine would not last long and the value of our new house would suffer unless action was taken. So, after looking at the available options I was most impressed by TwinTec design and had one fitted very neatly and efficiently, by UK water Softeners. It's may not be the cheapest water softener around, but in my opinion it is easily the best. The fact that it actively monitors water usage before activating the refresh cycle, and uses water power rather than needing a separate electrical supply to drive timers and other complex (and breakable) parts, is quite brilliant.
The TwinTec is also more compact and user friendly than most other water softeners. It takes up just a half size kitchen cupboard space, and block salt is very easily fed in when needed (about once a month in our case), it's far easier to store and less messy to fit than granular salt.
Our unit has worked none stop and completely trouble free, for the past ten years now, making clean water fittings and almost zero maintenance something which we take very much for granted.
The only associated item that has needed changing in that time, was a little drinking water tap that we had installed, which is independent of the softener and still uses untreated mains water. Being on hard water it is inclined to choke up and sometimes has to be de-scaled. A reminder of all the trouble the little TwinTec machine is constantly saving us elsewhere. My best investment ever.'
Mr Brook - Southampton - August 2012
We’d just like to write and tell you how pleased we are with our TwinTec S3 Water Softener, which we purchased a year ago now.
Your service was excellent and it was nice to deal with someone with, not only a pleasing personality, but also very professional. The Plumber you arranged was excellent too and it’s nice to have good customer service afterwards also, when we order our salt.
We have spread the news that you come on good recommendation and hopefully you will gather more sales from this.
Marion & John - Basingstoke - August 2012
"I had a new 'closed vented' heating system installed in 2008. The existing water softener proved useless and impeded the flow of hot water. After thorough research I found the Twintec water softener.
Kevin Goody answered all my questions and the water softener was cleanly installed by his dedicated plumber in July of that year.
I have now had this softener for 4 years and it has done exactly what I wanted.
Nice clean showers with softened water, lime-free toilets and (although I haven't cut open the pipes to have a look) I suspect similarly clean heating pipes.
I reload the salt, supplied annually at a competetitive rate and delivered by Kevin, about every 3 weeks
I'm delighted with it. This is a large house which needs soft water and trouble-free plumbing.
And the water softener was paid for in instalments – a great help."
Nick, Chiswick - June 2012
"We decided to install a softwater system and were recommended Twin Tec by our plumber. We contacted Kevin Goody and he responded very quickly with a quote for the system. The installer, Rob, arrived promptly and did an excellent job managing to move pipes to enable us to fit the water softener and salt block unit under our sink. This meant that we did not have to use any other cupboard space. The salt block usage has worked out exactly as promised. The benefits of having soft water have been excellent in terms of providing water that has improved dishwashing, clothes washing and provided a completely different experience when washing and bathing.
After sales assistance has been first class – Kevin Goody has responded promptly to any queries we have had. Rob the installer helped us with a problem which turned out to be unrelated to the water softener for which we were very grateful. We have just received our second delivery of salt blocks very promptly. So far, we are highly satisfied with the installation and back up service."
Mr Chiappino, Fleet (Hants) - March 2012
"Before the TwinTec system I had 2 Culligan systems over nine years. Both these units used a lot of salt and were fairly loud when regenerating. I found them unreliable and both proved expensive to repair. Kevin installed the Twin Tec system for me 2 months ago and it really is very quiet and requires less salt. Yes it is more expensive then some other brands but it lives up to its promises. With the benefit of hindsight I wished I had spent the extra money 2 water softeners ago as it would have been cheaper option in the long run and a better product."
Mr Farrell, Fleet (Hants) - February 2012
"We have been using TwinCylinder, Block Salt, water softeners since 1988 and love them.
The installation is easy and quick and gives immediate good results.
One of the best things about these systems are the fact that they do not need electricity and need no programming according to usage, unlike other softeners. They only soften the water as you use it so is very efficient. All you have to do is make sure it is topped up with salt.
I know of people who have stopped using their different make softeners because they are fed up with having to change the programming for when or who is in the house or when there has been a power cut. You don’t have any of that hassle with this system.
Straight away you feel the benefit on your skin and hair, as well as noticing how much less soap and shampoo you use. You only need to use less than half of soap powder, washing up liquid etc, that you would normally use. You easily recover the cost of the softener by using less soap and not having to buy any lime scale remover. You do not have to buy salt for the dishwasher.
Towels and clothes feel softer as there is no calcium build up in them.
When you wash your car, there is no scum left on it.
You get a great cup of tea with no ‘film’ on top.
There is no taste of salt in the water due to the way the system is designed.
Our washing machine (2002) was repaired yesterday due to a mounting failure. The engineer asked when we had had the pump and element changed. I told him they were the originals and had never been changed. The engineer could not believe that the element, drum and pump were the original ones, as there was not trace of limescale in the machine. He said he had never seen a machine in such good condition for its age.
Our dishwasher is over 13 years old and the elements still look as new as the day the machine was installed. The kettle and iron are the same.
Our showers, baths, sinks and toilets have absolutely no staining even though they are now over 13 years old.
Shower heads never ever need cleaning.
Also, the softened water keeps the elements in the hot water/heating system and boiler in good condition with no limescale build up, so the system remains efficient keeping the energy costs down. Similarly the elements in the washing machine/ dish washer etc heat up the water quicker due to no limescale build up, thus reducing the heating costs.
It is easy to top up the softener with salt, unlike other softeners with those you have to lug around a 25kg bag of salt and then spend ages shovelling it into the softener with the inevitable salt spilling on the floor and in the kitchen cupboard, with this softener all you have is two blocks (like two housebricks) easy to load and easy to store and the salt is delivered promptly when ordered.
I would also mention that this softener is one of the smallest in uk, its compact and fits conveniently under the (kitchen) sink.
I don’t understand why everyone does not have one.”
Bill, Egham - November 2011
Just to let you know that we are very pleased with the water softener, personally as the picoc (person in charge of cleaning), I am delighted with how much of a change it has made already to ease my cleaning routine - particularly with all my back/ leg/foot problems!!!
Many thanks and I am only sorry that I don't have enough contacts around here to recommend you widely. I assure you if I get the opportunity I will 'sing your praises'".
Andrea, Basingstoke - October 2011
"I want to thank Kevin Goody for his excellent help. He was happy to come to my address, give me explanations in person and deliver goods at short notice on Sundays! at my convenience.
He also kept in close contact with Harvey Bowden to follow up and facilitate the whole process of research and additional purchases."
Antonio - August 2011
"I couldn't believe how hard the water was here after moving to the area, the amount of products that I needed just to keep things clean, washing powder etc' that we were getting through was ridiculous, and nasty tasting tea. I then spoke to Kevin and made an appointment to view one of his softeners, and in no time we had arranged the installation without any high pressure sales talk, it was obvious this was the solution we needed, and what a huge difference this has made, clean bathrooms, less washing powder and shampoo, no harsh cleaning products, very economical to run as there is no electrical connection, and the installation was done quickly and very professionally with no mess, and with no scale in the kettle that means a great tasting cup of tea once again! I can't recommend the product or the company highly enough. I don't understand why these water softeners are not fitted as standard to all properties, why put up with hard water when you don't have to?"
Tony, Harmans Water, Bracknell - July 2011
"We had our original water softener installed by Kevin Goody when we moved Farnham Common in March of 1999. Since that time the unit has worked quietly and efficiently hidden away in a small space under the sink. Since installation the unit has required just one service visit to renew some worn internal valves and this was carried out easily, without fuss and at little cost. As with most items improvements are made and upon being approached by Kevin to tell us of the Twintec S3, the upgraded version of our softener and after twelve years trouble free usage of the old unit, we decided to invest in a newer model. This installation included as a package the renewal of all the existing connections and control taps and took just a few hours to complete.
We are very pleased with this new model and with the good service and support we have received from Kevin Goody and have no hesitation in recommending his products, his workmanship and his support."
Anthony, Farnham Common - June 2011
“I thought I would drop you a line to say just how
delighted we are with the water softener installation. While we are still
waiting for the huge hot water tank we have here to totally refill with soft
water, we are already aware of the massive difference this will make. We
actually get lather when we take a shower and our skin already feels
As I told you when we met, I am always highly reluctant
to get “trade’s people” into my house following a whole series of disasters
and lack-lustre work quality. Your company is I have to say a breath of fresh
air in this respect – not only is the product vastly superior to the
competition, your unpressured sales approach and high quality service
throughout the process were superlative in all respects.
Then there is your plumber Rob. I wasn’t sure whether
the term “plumber” really does him justice – maybe ‘pipe artist’ would have
been a better description given the guy’s obvious talent. His skill and
experience were incredible and he came equipped with an veritable arsenal of
fittings to resolve any install problems. He even re-plumbed our filtered
water tap and we now have three times the water pressure we used to get!
Considering we had quite a bit of re-plumbing, he finished the lot in an hour
and a half to a standard which eclipsed the quality of the original plumbing.
No leaks, no mess, no hassle. My only regret is not taking his business card
for any work we might need in the house in future!
In conclusion, I would be happy to recommend your
services to anyone and if you ever need assistance in securing a sale, get
them to speak to me. Congratulations go to your company for uncompromised
quality and service.”
Steve, Newbury - June 2011
We made one of our best decisions when we moved into our new home 12 years ago and opted for the twin cylinder, block salt, water softener from Kevin Goody. It operates without an electrical connection and is completely trouble free producing non-stop soft water. In our very hard water area of Berkshire this is a real boon. Replacement salt blocks are easily ordered and swiftly delivered. We highly recommend this water softener system.
Richard, Wokingham - December 2010
We have been using the TwinTec water softener for many years now and have had these in the last 3 houses we have lived in. They work well, are easy to keep stocked with salt and the service has been great. The last time we moved house we enquired about installing a softener and it was installed the next day. Excellent job!
Roger, Guildford - November 2010
I have to admit that my brother told me about TwinTec, since he had a water softener fitted in his house in Liphook and is a complete convert to softened water. He thought his came from a firm in Havant, but that was too far away. So I googled TwinTec and up came UK Water Softeners in local Frimley. A phone call later and Kevin Goody was round to look at my flat within a couple of hours. 30 minutes later we had done and dealt. That was Thursday and it was fitted at 9.am. the following Monday. In the meantime I had had a confirmatory letter saying when the system would be fitted.
I cannot recommend the service I have had from Kevin highly enough. Most people who know me are aware that I am totally intolerant of inefficiency but this was the diametric opposite! I shall certainly let all my friends and acquaintances know of this very simple device. It may cost more but in my experience you get what you pay for in this life. What is more if you move you can take the unit with you, if you want!
My wife & I moved into the Twyford area 6 yrs ago & were acutely aware of the hard water in the area. After serious investigation of suitable water softeners it became very apparent the TwinTec system is a cut above the rest; offering hassle free softened water on a consumption basis with no annual maintenance costs! Kevin & his company were extremely helpful & offered a fantastic service from quote to install & beyond (with delivery of additional block salt on demand). We would definitely recommend UK Water Softeners to anyone thinking of installing such a system in their home
Jon & Emily, Twyford
What fantastic service! From looking at your advert in the local paper, to having our water softerner installed - 5 days - and 2 of those were the weekend. We could not be more pleased with the end result either. Having a particularly awkward located stop cock, Kevin put us at ease with regard to location and the plumber came up trumps with no mess, no fuss and everything nice and tidy. I would certainly recommend Kevin and his Company to anyone who is in two minds about a water softerner. Great product, great service and lots and lots of lovely bubbles in my evening bath!
Jill and John Root, Bracknell
After recently buying a new home in Hook, we realised that the water was causing us some problems with our shower/toilet seals due to the hardness of the local water. We decided to explore the cost and possibility of having a water softener installed. We had done some research on the internet (as you would expect) and found that most softeners had a time clock on them and needed maintenance once a year at a cost. Last week we received a flyer through the door, which looked professional and promising as there was minimal maintainance and can last up to 20 years (sounds intriguing!) We decided to bite the bullet and call to arrange for a sales person to visit. Kevin Goody, the proprietor, called us back and arranged an appointment to suit us. (Service indeed). When he arrived, he gave us a demonstration and showed us the softener which had no time clock, neither the need to carry large bags of salt around as they are delivered in bags of 2 blocks, which are much easier to manhandle. We agreed to purchase the softener from Kevin there and then because he explained everything to us clearly and gave us several options of location of the unit, and then gave us a concise estimate with NO hidden extras to supply and install it. The Plumber arrived on time, and installed the water softener exactly where we wanted it and when we look at the finished article, it has been done to a very high standard, and we are 100% satisfied to the quality of work carried out! We wanted to praise Kevin Goody for his professionalism and courteousness and not trying to hard sell us into a sale, and we have no hesitation in recommending Kevin and his company to anybody who is looking for a Water Softener. Thank you Kevin for a wonderful experience.

When my family and I moved to Basingstoke one of the first things we were acutely aware of was the hardness of the water in the area. You could argue that the affects of hard water is hardly life threatening, but hailing from Nottingham and also having lived in Yorkshire (being natural soft water area's) we had been blissfully unaware of the affects of hard water from being unable to achieve a decent lather when bathing to the damage lime-scale does to plumbing and sanitary wear. It wasn't an easy decision, the investment in a not inexpensive piece of equipment that gives you something (soft water) we'd taken for granted thus far, the number of options of both equipment and suppliers within the area was baffling! When you are talking about a piece of equipment that is attached to your main water feed, you don't want a "fly by night" installation. I eventually decided that the twin block salt equipment was the best solution for our needs, without the timing mechanism and electrical connection of other softeners I'd seen meant the softener only recharged the part of the equipment which provided the softening to the water - which meant if my family and I went on holiday for two weeks (leaving the house empty) we'd return to a softener with the same amount of salt we'd left it with! As for the supplier, I wanted to ensure it wasn't a "fly by night" organization which was there to make money from your initial investment and not be around if you had issues, now comes the reason for my testimonial to Kevin Goody: It's been over ten years since our purchase, we've had one issue where the softener unit stopped softening, which was dealt with very quickly and in a very professional manner, the "fault" in the end was not a fault of the unit but a first indication that our kitchen units required renewing (a shelf support had failed tilting the unit so water wasn't fully in contact with the salt blocks). Our other contact with Kevin is for the supply of the only consumable - the block salt. For a house with two bathrooms (both fitted with power showers) and three toilets, five adults use salt which costs around £96 per year (a small cost for the luxury of soft water), for this I contact Kevin about once a year, his no fuss service is exceptional, even though he is based in Frimley, despite the fact that I always tell him there is no rush, he delivers salt either same or next day - not being in when he delivers is not an issue either, he will leave it safely and provide a postage paid envelope for me to send the payment in. I do not hesitate to recommend Kevin Goody, UK Water Softeners, the equipment and the service he provides. In the past ten years three neighbours have had a hot water tank failure, causing damage to ceilings and creating massive disruption to the household and the reason for the tank failure? LIMESCALE, so not only has our water softener saved us from that but I would estimate that in the ten years we've had the unit it has paid for itself with each smaller amount of soap, shampoo & cleanser we've had to use every time we've washed /cleaned and showered
